John Wood Complex
Accommodation Details
The complex consists of the main John Wood building and three further blocks
situated around a landscaped courtyard called John Wood Court. Sited just
around the corner from the central bus and train station and Central shopping
area, this very popular complex houses around 275 students including First year undergraduates and certain Foundation year students.

Accommodation Details
This 4 storey building, very close to the city centre,
was opened in September 1997. It offers en-suite shower room
accommodation with 7 - 10 students per kitchen group and two rooms
are specifically adapted for students with disabilities. John Wood Building
will be internally refurbished in time for September 2010 intake.

John Wood Court

Completed in December 1998 the accommodation consists mainly of 4, 5
and 6 bedroom cluster flats. Each flat has a communal kitchen/dining
area, a shower room with washbasin and WC, and a separate WC plus washbasin.

Accommodation Smoking Policy
University Accommodation Complexes are completely non-smoking from September 2009 intake, that includes communal areas and individual study bedrooms, and means that you should be at least 4 metres away from any building when you smoke. For further details of our smoking policy please click here
Location
On the location
map you will see that road, rail and river run in close proximity
to each other through Bath. Each residence is within a short walk of
the main shopping precincts and a direct bus route to the University.
Bike storage facilities and a launderette are available at each complex.
Study Bedrooms
Most rooms measure approximately 10-12 square metres but there are variations. Bed, mattress, desk, chair, wardrobe/hanging space, drawers, waste paper bin, mirror and pinboard are provided in each room. Please note bed linen is not provided free of charge. Off campus students can purchase a bed pack from us or bring their own. The bed pack we provide costs £30 and consists of a single 10.5 tog duvet, pillow, duvet cover, fitted sheet and pillow case.
Kitchen
In each communal kitchen we provide: one or two fridge/ freezers according to the size of the kitchen group;
electric kettle; electric hob; cooker; microwave; iron and ironing board. A vacuum cleaner can be obtained from the Housekeeper on request. Rice cookers are provided in off campus residences, but students need to supply their own crockery.
Resident Tutors
Each residential area has a Senior Resident Tutor and a team of resident
tutors who live in the residences and who are available to give advice and guidance
to all residents. They help foster a good living environment with special
regard to student welfare, discipline and safety. More information is available from the Resident Tutors' web pages.
Cars and Parking
To comply with the conditions of the planning consent
for these off-site complexes, it is a condition of residence that students
do not have the use of, or keep a motor vehicle, in connection with
their use of the accommodation. Failure to meet these obligations may
result in the University taking disciplinary action which may include
requiring a student to leave University accommodation.^ top
