Annual Housing Forum
Each year the Student Accommodation
Office, in conjunction with the AWARE
centre hold
a Housing Forum. The aim of the forum is to give advice to students looking
for private sector accommodation for the following academic year.
The 2010 Housing Forum was held on Wednesday 10th February
2010. For those that were unable to attend there is a copy of the presentation.
(This document will open as a Powerpoint slide show)
Hosted by:
The forum programme includes:
- Finding a property/room - where and when to look
- Signing a contract
- Living in the private sector
- Money Matters
- Personal Safety
International Students
Following on from the Housing Forum, an additional seminar will be held on
Thursday 11th February 2010 in 8W3.22 at 6.15 pm.
This
session is also held each year to give students the opportunity to ask more
detailed questions to a panel of advisors (representing the Student Accommodation
Office, AWARE and the International
Office), and senior international students.
When to look for accommodation
Properties and rooms available for the academic
2010/2011 start being listed on the University database, Bathstudentpad.co.uk
from 12th February 2010 for council accredited accommodation. Non-accredited
vacancies will be added on 24th February 2010. Once 2010/2011 private sector
availability
is listed, the database is continually updated
as we
are notified
of the
relevant information.
Students are strongly recommended NOT to be pressurised by landlords or agents to commit to anything BEFORE the University database becomes available. Bath has plenty of private sector accommodation.
