What should I do if there is a problem in my room?
- Any problems should be initially reported online or to your Accommodation Operations Co-ordinator, the Housekeeping Offices are open
Monday to Friday 9am to 5.20pm and Friday 9am to 5.10pm.
They will then arrange for the problem to be rectified.
Outside of these hours please contact the Accommodation Services Centre.

I have reported a problem to my Accommodation Operations Co-ordinator and it has not been rectified, what should I do?
- If the problem has not been rectified or you are unhappy with any aspect of
Housekeeping then please contact the Accommodation Services Centre. (link to contact details)
- If you are still not satisfied, then you need to write to: The Accommodation Operations Manager,
Accommodation Services Centre, on Campus.
When is my bedroom/bathroom/kitchen cleaned?
- Please refer to the service standards posted in your kitchen area of your accommodation.
Does the University have any laundrette facilities?
- On campus:
Westwood – Rear of Accommodation Services Centre
Eastwood A – Opposite Housekeepers office
Marlborough Court – Adjacent to the Housekeepers Office
- Off campus:
Carpenter House – Rear of Accommodation Services Centre
Thornbank – Level 1 Maple Block
Pulteney Court – Adjacent to Housekeepers Office
John Wood Complex – Rear of Housekeepers office
Clevelands – Opposite Housekeepers Office
- The laundrettes are managed by an outside company and therefore we have no responsibility for them.
However should you encounter a problem please visit the Accommodation Services Centre who will endeavour to assist you.
What do I do if I want to move accommodation?
- You need to visit the Student Accommodation Office in 6 West.
What do I need to do if I have damaged something in my accommodation?
- Any damage should be reported to your Housekeeper or the Accommodation Services Centre.
if the damage is due to negligence on your part then you may be charged. The housekeeper will advise you if this is the case.
What do I do if I have a problem with my room when all the offices are closed?
- Out of office hours support is provided by the Security team who are now located in the Library and can be contacted on extension 5349 from any university phone or by dialling 01225 385349.
What should I do if I have lost my key?
- In the first instance you should check with the Security Office and the Accommodation Services
Centre to see if the key has been handed in.
If the key has not been found then a replacement key can be issued at the cost of £25.00 per key.
